John is well known to traditional music fans and was awarded the TG4 Musician of the Year in 2003. In this new band he will showcase his unique fiddle, banjo and tenor guitar playing and is fortunate to have on board some of the finest talent that Irish music has to offer with every member bringing their own unique stamp to the overall sound. He is joined by Shane McGowan on guitar and vocals, Kevin Doherty on double bass, Ciarán Munnelly on snare drum, bodhrán, vocals and flute and James Carty on fiddle. Special guests include Colm Gannon on accordion, Maggie Carty on banjo, vocalist Daoiri Farrell, and banjo player and dancer Frankie Fox.
This gig has a real celebratory atmosphere as Carty and friends play a unique spectrum of traditional music with influences from the 1920s, old time, swing/jazz to O'Carolan and beyond.
